MAGA's are essentially holding civilization hostage: "Tame your Social-Justice-Warriors or we'll put sociopaths in charge who crash civilization!" Rural Republicans don't value civilization enough to protect it, and so use civilization's very existence as a bargaining chip to threaten the rest.
